Restoration Of Lost Years

🌿 Restoration of Lost Years

Text: Joel 2:25–27

Introduction

Beloved, the Spirit of the Lord says today: “I am the God who restores.”
Some of us are sitting here with a heavy heart because when you look back, you see wasted years… years lost to pain, sin, mistakes, sickness, brokenness, and even delay.

But I bring you good news: God does not only forgive sins—He restores years!
Joel 2:25 declares: “I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten…”

Lift your hand and declare:
👉 “My lost years are not lost forever—God is restoring me!”

1. What Are Lost Years?

  • Years stolen by the enemy (John 10:10 – “The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy”).
  • Years wasted in sin (Luke 15:13 – the prodigal son wasted all in riotous living).
  • Years swallowed by sickness (Mark 5:25 – woman with issue of blood for 12 years).
  • Years of barrenness and delay (Genesis 18 – Sarah waiting for her Isaac).
  • Years of missed opportunities – times you should have been lifted but were ignored.

Beloved, maybe you say: “I have lost my youth, I have lost my joy, I have lost my business, I have lost my family.”
But hear me: The same God who turned Joseph from prisoner to Prime Minister will turn your story around.

2. God’s Promise of Restoration

Joel 2:25 is not man’s promise—it is God’s oath.

  • God restores years, not just things.
👉 You may lose money and recover it, but how do you recover years?
Only the Almighty can take your past and fold it into your future.

  • Isaiah 61:7 – “Instead of your shame you shall have double honor.”

  • Job 42:10 – God gave Job double for his trouble.

  • Genesis 41 – Joseph lost 13 years in slavery and prison, but in one day God lifted him.

Tell your neighbor: “Your turnaround will not take 10 years—God can do it suddenly!”

3. How Does God Restore?

  1. By His Presence
Joel 2:27 – “You shall know that I am in the midst of Israel.”
Beloved, when God is with you, restoration begins.

  2. By His Word
Psalm 107:20 – “He sent His Word and healed them.”
Every prophetic word carries the power of restoration.

  3. By Divine Acceleration
Amos 9:13 – “The plowman shall overtake the reaper.”
What you lost in 10 years, God can give in 10 months!

  4. By the Cross of Jesus Christ
2 Corinthians 5:17 – “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature.”
The blood of Jesus redeems wasted time and opens a new destiny.

4. Prophetic Declarations (Activation)

Let us rise and declare:

  • “Lord, restore my wasted years!”
  • “Every lost opportunity, return in double measure!”
  • “My health shall spring forth speedily!” (Isaiah 58:8)
  • “My finances, my family, my ministry—be restored!”

Lay hands on your head and prophesy over yourself:
👉 “From today, I enter my season of restoration!”

5. Conclusion

Beloved, the enemy counts years, but God redeems them.
The devil may have wasted your youth, your joy, your health, your opportunities—but God says in Joel 2:26:
“You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God.”

Your season of shame is over.
Your season of restoration has begun.

Lift your hands and shout:
🔥 “This is my year of restoration!”
