What is man made of? What happen after death?

What Is Man Made Of?

According to Genesis 2:7,

“And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.”

This verse reveals the threefold nature of man — body, soul, and spirit:

(a) Body – The Physical Vessel

  • Formed from the dust of the earth (Genesis 2:7).
  • It is the visible, temporary part of man that connects to the natural world.
  • It returns to dust after death (Ecclesiastes 12:7).

“For dust you are, and to dust you shall return.” – Genesis 3:19

(b) Soul – The Seat of Personality

  • The mind, emotions, and will reside here.
  • It is what makes each person unique — your thoughts, memories, choices, and feelings.
  • The soul is the “living being” that came into existence when God’s breath entered the body.

(c) Spirit – The Divine Spark

  • The breath of God within man — our direct link to the Creator.
  • The spirit enables man to fellowship with God, receive revelation, and experience spiritual life.
  • When Adam sinned, this spirit became disconnected from God (spiritual death).
  • Through Christ, the human spirit can be reborn and reconnected to God (John 3:6).

💀 2. What Happens After Death?

Death is not the end of existence — it is the separation of the spirit and soul from the body.

(a) The Body

  • Returns to the earth and decays:

“Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was.” – Ecclesiastes 12:7

(b) The Soul & Spirit

  • Return to God for judgment and placement:

“And the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.” – Ecclesiastes 12:7

Depending on one’s relationship with Christ:

🔹 For the Righteous (Believers in Christ)

  • The soul and spirit are received by the Lord:

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” – 2 Corinthians 5:8

  • They rest in peace and glory, awaiting the resurrection of the body at Christ’s coming.

🔹 For the Unrighteous (Rejecters of God)

  • The soul goes to a place of torment or separation, called Hades or Sheol.

“The rich man also died and was buried; and in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment…” – Luke 16:22–23

Both groups will one day face resurrection and final judgment (John 5:28–29).

🌅 3. The Final Destiny of Man

  1. Resurrection:

    • The dead will rise — both righteous and wicked (Daniel 12:2).
    • Believers will receive glorified, immortal bodies (1 Corinthians 15:52–54).
  2. Judgment:

    • Christ will judge every soul (2 Corinthians 5:10).
    • Those in Christ will enter eternal life; others into eternal separation (Matthew 25:46).
  3. Eternal States:

    • Heaven / New Earth – everlasting union with God.
    • Hell / Lake of Fire – eternal separation from God.
