🔥 RULING OVER YOUR EMOTIONS

The Dominion of the Spirit Over the Soul

Text: Proverbs 16:32; Galatians 5:22–25; Romans 8:6

🕊️ 1. Understanding the Structure of Man

“May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless…” — 1 Thessalonians 5:23

Man is a tripartite being:
Spirit — the God-conscious part (where the Holy Spirit dwells).
Soul — the self-conscious part (mind, will, emotions).
Body — the world-conscious part (through the five senses- sight, hearing, smell, taste and feeling).

👉 The soul is the battleground where the spirit and the flesh wrestle for control. Emotions belong to the soul, but they must be governed by the spirit.

🔥 2. The Power and Purpose of Emotions

Emotions are spiritual energies that color your thoughts and actions. They can:
Empower you to express God’s heart (love, compassion, joy).
Or open doors to darkness (anger, jealousy, fear).
Emotions were created to serve your spirit, not to rule over your will.

⚔️ 3. The Danger of Uncontrolled Emotions

Uncontrolled emotions are open gates to demonic influence.
Cain’s anger led to murder (Genesis 4:6–8).
Saul’s jealousy opened him to torment (1 Samuel 18:9–10).
Many believers lose spiritual power because their emotions dominate their choices.
“A city broken down and without walls is a man who has no control over his spirit.” — Proverbs 25:28

🌈 4. The Fruit of the Spirit — Heaven’s Emotional Signature

When the Spirit rules the soul, divine emotions flow:
Love instead of hatred.
Joy instead of sorrow.
Peace instead of anxiety.
Patience instead of anger.

These are not natural emotions but divine frequencies that tune your soul to heaven.

🔥 5. How to Rule Over Your Emotions

(a) Renew your mind with the Word (Romans 12:2).
(b) Daily yield your will to the Holy Spirit (Luke 22:42).
(c) Pray in tongues and meditate — it calms and strengthens the inner man (Jude 1:20).
(d) Speak words of life — emotions obey your declarations.
(e) Walk in love — love is the master key that subdues all emotions under divine order.

🌅 6. The Example of Jesus

Jesus expressed emotions, yet none controlled Him:
He wept — but not in despair.
He was angry — but in righteousness.
He rejoiced — but always in the Spirit. He ruled His emotions through perfect unity with the Father.
True dominion is when your emotions become vessels of divine expression.

🙌 7. Prophetic Declaration

“My spirit rules over my soul, and my soul aligns with the Holy Spirit.
I subdue anger, fear, and sorrow under divine peace.
My emotions become instruments of love, compassion, and joy.
I reign with Christ within — and no feeling rules me but the Spirit of God!”
